The Malta Developers Association refers to the issue that has arisen on public access to the foreshore at Manoel Island.
The MDA agrees with the consistent Government policy – both that of the present administration and of previous administrations – that the foreshore should always remain in the public domain. This must also mean that the public should have permanent access to the foreshore.
In the circumstances, the MDA appeals to the developers of Tigné Point and Manoel Island, the MIDI consortium, to come to an agreement with the Government and Gzira Local Council as quickly as possible so that this right can be respected in practice and the public will be able to enjoy the coast of Manoel Island.

L-MDA dwar aċċess pubbliku għall-foreshore
Il-Malta Developers Association (MDA) tirreferi għall-kwestjoni li nqalgħet dwar l-aċċess tal-pubbliku għall-foreshore f’Manoel Island.
L-MDA taqbel mal-policy kostanti tal-Gvern – kemm dak preżenti, kif ukoll dawk ta’ qablu – li l-foreshore għandha dejjem tibqa fid-dominju pubbliku. Dan irid ifisser ukoll li l-pubbliku jkollu dritt għall-aċċess permanenti għall-foreshore.
Fiċ-ċirkostanzi, l-MDA tappella lill-iżviluppaturi ta’ Tigné Point u Manoel Island, il-kumpanija MIDI, biex tasal kemm jista’ jkun malajr fi ftehim mal-Gvern u mal-Kunsill Lokali tal-Gżira sabiex dan id-dritt ikun rispettat fil-prattika u l-pubbliku jkun jista’ jgawdi x-xatt ta’ Manoel Island.
