The Malta Developers Association convened a meeting for its members interested in forming part of a new section representing the interests of operators in Condominium Administration & Building Management. At inception, this new section is being formed with some twenty members, representing close to 2000 properties.
Opening the meeting, MDA President Michael Stivala, thanked the attendees for their support and went on to explain how since 2010, the MDA has grown from safeguarding the interests of property developers and building contractors, to now include specific sections for estate agencies and estate agents and consultants, quarry owners, road contractors, landlords and renewable energy goods suppliers. The MDA now numbers over 600 members in total, making it one of the largest non-governmental organisations in Malta.
“Representing Condominium & Building Management operators was a logical next step for the MDA”, claimed Mr Stivala, who continued; “We are fully aware of the massive growth of the property market and particularly the letting sector over these past few years. This rapid expansion has created new challenges for condominium administrators in residential properties, building management operators of commercial properties, as well as the tenants of both residential and commercial properties. Now it is up to us to set up the right framework and infrastructure for our members and their clients.”
During the meeting Andrew Xuereb (Realhouse Management Ltd.) was unanimously elected Head of Section with Joanna Xuereb (MG Administrators) and Yosef El Khatib (Regent Property Services) assisting him on the first committee. The MDA Condominium & Building Management Section will be adopting the tag line “Improving your quality of life and value of your property”.
