MDA WARNS DEVELOPERS ON ETHICS BREACHES

The Malta Developers Association (MDA) has received a number of complaints from persons who bought apartments with the condition that the developer had to finish the common parts in an indicated time frame and subsequently this work was not carried out. In some cases buyers completed the finishing works inside the flat but their property cannot be used since the developer failed to honour his commitments.
MDA feels that this conduct is a breach of its members’ code of ethics, shows lack of seriousness and gives a bad name to all developers. The association is striving as much as it can to ensure that its members act in a serious and professional way, and is not going to tolerate those who, through such conduct, give a bad impression on all developers in general.
In these circumstances the MDA is giving notice that, if these circumstances persist, it would have no option but to publish the names of these developers so that the public and those intending to purchase a property would be informed of this misconduct.

TWISSIJA MILL-MDA FUQ KSUR TAL-ETIKA

Il-Malta Developers Association (MDA) irċeviet numru ta’ lmenti minn persuni li xtraw appartamenti bil-kondizzjoni li l-iżviluppatur ilesti l-partijiet komuni fi żmien indikat u imbagħad dan ix-xogħol baqa’ ma sarx. F’xi każi min xtara l-appartament tiegħu lesta dak li kien għad jonqsu jsir iżda xorta ma jistax jużah għax l-iżviluppatur naqas milli jonora l-obbligi tiegħu.
L-MDA tħoss li dan l-aġir huwa ksur tal-kodċi tal-etika tal-membri tagħha, juri nuqqas ta’ serjetà u jagħti fama ħażina lill-iżviluppaturi kollha. L-assoċjazzjoni qed tirsisti kemm tiflaħ sabiex tassigura li l-membri tagħha jaħdmu b’mod serju u professjonali u mhux se tittolera lil min bl-aġir tiegħu jagħti impressjoni ħażina dwar l-iżviluppaturi in generali.
Fiċ-ċirkostanzi, l-MDA twisssi illi jekk dawn iċ-ċirkostanzi jippersistu, hi ma jkollhix triq oħra għajr li xxandar l-ismijiet ta’ dawn l-iżviluppaturi biex il-pubbliku in generali u dawk li qed jikkonsidraw li jixtru proprjetà jkunu avżati b’dan in-nuqqas.
