UE assistance for operators in green energy sector:

MDA proposals lead to €140 m allocation up to 2020

Photovoltaic systems larger than 1 MW, known as ‘Solar Farms’, can now be developed following in-depth discussions between the Malta Developers Association and various government entities, including Minister Konrad Mizzi.

The developers within the MDA, together with the entrepreneurs within the renewable energy sector, are to invest more than ever before so that the European Union’s targets for 10 per cent of the gross electricity consumed in Malta will be from these sources by 2020 will be reached.

The MDA declares that the entrepreneurs, who work within the sector and who today are all its members within the Alternative Energy Section, will be working to ensure that the scheme will be a success in the interest of the country, for the benefit of the general public and in the interest of the alternative energy sector.

While the MDA remains committed to continuing to work with the Government, the authorities and the service providers of alternative energy so that the production sector of clean energy will continue to grow consistently, even on a commercial scale, it urges the authorities to lessen unnecessary bureaucracy in the administrative process need to achieve the goal of these projects so that they can be implemented as soon as possible.

The MDA expresses its full satisfaction that it has obtained the trust of all the members of this sector in a short period of time and has managed to achieve success in this field to achieve one of its primary aims that development in our country will be truly sustainable.

Għajnuna mill-UE lill-operaturi fis-settur ta’ enerġija nadifa:

Proposti tal-MDA jwasslu għall-allokazzjoni ta’ €140 miljun sal-2020

Wara diskussjonijiet fit-tul li l-Malta Developers Association (MDA) kellha ma’ diversi entitajiet governattivi, fosthom il-Ministru Konrad Mizzi, ser tkun possibbli li jiġu żviluppati sistemi fotovoltajici ta’ kobor aktar min 1 MW, magħrufa bħala ‘Solar Farms’.

L-iżviluppaturi tal-MDA, flimkien mal-imprendituri fis-settur tal-enerġija rinnovabbli, ser ikunu qed jinvestu iktar minn qatt qabel sabiex jintlaħqu l-miri tal-Unjoni Ewropeja biex 10 fil-mija tal-konsum gross tad-dawl ta’ Malta ikun minn dawn is-sorsi sa s-sena 2020.

L-MDA tiddikjara li l-imprendituri, li jaħdmu f’dan is-settur u li illum huma kollha membri tagħha fis-Sezzjoni tal-Enerġija Alternattiva, ser tkun qed taħdem bis-sħiħ sabiex din l-iskema tkun suċċess fl-interess tal-pajjiż, għall-ġid tal-pubbliku in ġenerali u fl-interess tal-settur tal-enerġija alternattiva.

Filwaqt li l-MDA tibqa’ impenjata li tkompli taħdem mal-Gvern, l-awtoritajiet u mas-service providers tal-enerġija alternattiva sabiex is-settur ikompli jikber b’mod konsistenti fis-sezzjoni ta’ produzzjoni ta’ enerġija nadifa, anke fuq skala kummerċjali, tħeġġeġ lill-awtoritajiet sabiex titnaqqas il-burokrazija żejda fil-proċess amministrattiv meħtieġ biex jintlaħaq l-għan li dawn il-proġetti jiġu implimentati mill-aktar fis possibbli.

L-MDA tesprimi sodisfazzjon sħiħa li f’qasir żmien kisbet il-fiduċja ta’ dan is-settur ukoll u rnexxielha tagħmel suċċess f’dan il-qasam sabiex tilħaq l-għan ewlieni tagħha li ta’ bilħaqq l-iżvilupp f’pajjiżna jkun verament sostenibbli.
