Owners of 70 estate agency offices join MDA

Parliamentary Secretary for Planning and the Property Market Chris Agius today announced that he intends to finalise the White Paper on the regulation of estate agents with the Malta Developers association by the end of the first quarter of this year so that a draft Bill can be presented to Parliament.

Mr Agius was speaking during the launch of the Estate Agents Section (EAS) within the MDA, which represents the owners of 70 estate agent offices around Malta and Gozo. Since being appointed parliamentary secretary, he added that he had built a strong relationship with the MDA and was meeting the MDA board regularly to discuss how the sector can grow but also how to safeguard the environment.

MDA Council discusses PN’s economic vision

The Malta Developers Association Council recently met two Nationalist Party members of Parliament, Shadow Minister for the Economy Claudio Grech and Spokesman for SMEs Robert Arrigo, to discuss the party’s economic vision for the next decade, ‘An economy for the people’.

The MDA Council exchanged its views with the party, which is holding a series of consultation sessions with the Constituted Bodies on this working document, during the meeting, held at the MDA’s premises in Guardamangia. The main focus was on the local property market and the construction industry.

EFTP discussion

This working document is intended to serve as a canvas for the political process shaping the PN’s policy delivery plan. It is based on five core horizontal drivers, which are translated into 145 measures, and consists of 20 policy priorities, including a paradigm shift in construction and property development.

Il-Kunsill tal-MDA jiddiskuti l-viżjoni ekonomika tal-PN

Il-Kunsill tal-Malta Developers Association (MDA) dan l-aħħar iltaqa’ ma’ żewġ membri tal-Parlament tal-Partit Nazzjonalista, ix-Shadow Minister għall-Ekonomija Claudio Grech u l-kelliema għall-SMEs Robert Arrigo, biex jiddiskuti l-viżjoni ekonomika tal-partit għall-10 snin li ġejjin, ‘Ekonomija għall-Poplu’.

Il-Kunsill kellu skambju ta’ idejat mal-partit, li qiegħed ikollu numru ta’ sessjonijiet ta’ konsultazzjoni mal-Korpi Kostitwiti fuq dan id-dokument ta’ ħidma, waqt din il-laqgħa, li saret fil-kwartieri tal-MDA fi Guardamangia. L-iżjed li ffukaw kien fuq is-suq tal-proprjetà u l-industrija tal-kostruzzjoni.

Dan id-dokument ta’ ħidma għandu l-għan li jservi bħala ċattra għall-proċess politiku li fuqu l-PN jista’ jsawwar il-pjan li fuqu jkun mibni l-politika tiegħu. Huwa bbażat fuq ħames aspetti bażiċi li minnhom joħorġu 145 miżuri u fih hemm 20 prijoritajiet ta’ politika, fosthom li jkun hemm bidla fondamentali fil-kostruzzjoni u l-iżvilupp tal-proprjetà.
