MDA agrees with educational institution in the south

The Malta Developers Association understands that the project to establish a new teriary level institution is in the national interest and will raise the standard of living in the south of Malta by generating a positive domino effect, creating new jobs and increasing commercial activity, as well as increasing the value of buildings, while giving an impetus for abandoned buildings to be rehabilitated.

It appears that, in this case, Government has managed to attract the investment without a purely speculative project being created.

The MDA agrees that, if possible, a site that is not so pristine should be found, although this is not so easy. On the other hand, if the project is executed on undeveloped land, attention should neverthless by paid in particular for the project to respect the skyline of the vicinity where the development is happening and the topography of the terrain, and for high buildings to be avoided.

L-MDA taqbel ma’ istituzzjoni edukattiva fin-nofsinhar

Il-Malta Developers Association (MDA)tifhem li l-proġett li bih ser titwaqqaf istituzzjoni ġdida ta’ edukazzjoni terzjarja huwa fl-interess nazzjonali u ser jgħolli l-livell tal-għixien fin-nofsinhar ta’ Malta billi jiġġenera domino effect pożittiv bil-ħolqien ta’ impjiegi ġodda u żieda fil-kummerċ, kif ukoll żieda fil-valur tal-bini li se tgħin biex bini fl-inħawi li llum huwa abbandunat ikun riabilitat għall-użu.

Jidher li f’dan il-każ, il-Gvern irnexxielu jattira l-investiment mingħajr ma jinħoloq proġett li jkun sempliċiment wieħed spekulattiv.

L-MDA taqbel li jekk jista’ jkun jinstab sit li hu diġà mittiefes, anki jekk dan mhux daqstant faċli. Min-naħa l-oħra, jekk il-proġett isir fuq art li għad mhix żviluppata, madankollu, għandha tingħata attenzjoni partikolari biex il-proġett jirrispetta l-iskyline tal-akkwati fejn isir l-iżvilupp u t-topoloġija tat-terren, u jkun evitat bini għoli.
