Both PN leadership contenders request meeting with MDA

The two Nationalist Party leadership contenders, Dr Adrian Delia and Dr Chris Said, held separate meetings with the Malta Developers Association Council. The meetings, held at the request of the two candidates, turned out to be two long, fruitful discussions.

Both Dr Delia and Dr Said acknowledged the good work of the MDA and its highly valid contribution to the country.

Dr Delia, who said he intends to work on a long-term plan up to 2050, agreed with MDA President Sandro Chetcuti that the construction industry is one of the most important economic sectors of our country. He stressed the need to continue to promote investment in construction and promised that, if elected PN leader, he would co-operate with MDA as much as possible.

Dr Said praised MDA for its work. He saw it being born and admires what it has achieved. It has become one of the biggest, if not the biggest local associations, that is making a valid contribution to the country and he noted that MDA could always see the big picture. Considering the proposals MDA submitted to the current administration, he could appreciate the tangible success achieved by developers, contractors and those involved in building services.

Mr Chetcuti promised both leaders that, in the interests of the building industry, MDA would co-operate with anyone chosen to become the Leader of the Opposition.

Iż-żewġ kontestanti għat-tmexxija tal-PN jitolbu laqgħa mal-MDA

Iż-żewġ kontestanti għat-tmexxija tal-Partit Nazzjonalista, Dr Adrian Delia u Dr Chris Said, kellhom laqgħat separati mal-Kunsill tal-Malta Developers Asssociation (MDA). Il-laqgħat intalbu miż-żewġ kandidati u fihom kien hemm diskussjonijiet twal u ta’ fejda.

Kemm Dr Delia u Dr Said irrikonoxxu x-xogħol tajjeb li sar mill-MDA u l-kontribut validu lejn il-pajjiż.

Dr Delia, li qal li bi ħsiebu jaħdem fuq pjan fit-tul sal-2050, qael mal-President tal-MDA Sandro Chetcuti li l-industrija tal-kostruzzjoni hi waħda mis-setturi l-iktar importanti  fil-pajjiż. Emfasizza l-ħtieġa li nkomplu nippromowvu l-investiment fil-kostruzzjoni u wiegħed li, jekk jiġi elett kap tal-PN, jikkopera mal-MDA kemm jista’ jkun.

Dr Said faħħar ix-xogħol li sar mill-MDA. Hu ra t-twelid tal-MDA u jammira l-kisbiet tagħha. Saret waħda mill-ikbar, jekk mhux l-ikbar assoċjazzjoni lokali, li qiegħda tagħti kontribut validu lill-pajjiż u nnota li l-MDA dejjem seta’ jara l-kwadru l-kbir. Meta kkonsidra l-proposti li għamlet l-MDA lill-amministrazzjoni preżenti, seta’ japprezza s-suċċess tanġibbli tal-iżviluppaturi, il-kuntratturi u dawk li jaħdmu fis-servizzi tal-bini.

Is-Sur Chetcuti wiegħed iż-żewġ kandidati li, fl-interess tal-industrija tal-bini, l-MDA lesta tikopera ma’ kull wieħed minnhom meta jsir Kap tal-Oppożizzjoni.
